Stage 1: Active Start (Ages 6-8)

• 1 hour per week.
• 9-10 week term.
• Completmentary Membership and Rentals included for the duration of the program.
• 6 athletes with 1 coach.
• Prerequisites: None. This class is for anyone who is interested in tryout out climbing for the first time!

• General: safety/rules, routes, hold types.
• Climbing games and challenges.
• Footwork: toes, pivoting, matching.
• Body Positioning: straight arms/frog position, using hips, good posture.
• Body Awareness: targeting movements for hands and feet.
• Mental and Physical Stamina: falling, heights, climbing autobelays.

Stage 1 is our only age based youth program. Athletes are expected to attend multiple terms to develop their ability and confidence in all skill areas before moving into the next stage. All athletes will be given a report card at the end of each term to track their progress.
